KYIV. April 20. UNN. As long as the aggression continues, Russia should not have any access to sports and Olympic venues. The President of Ukraine said this in his traditional evening address, he reports UNN.

“The terrorist state will do everything to justify itself through sports or to use the international Olympic movement to support its aggression.

That is why it is important that, while the aggression continues, the Russian state does not have any access to sports and Olympic venues. In particular, to the Paris site – it is this city that will host the 2024 Olympics,” the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi also noted the principled position of the Mayor of Paris regarding the protection of the Olympic movement from Russian ideologization and propaganda.

“The Mayor of Paris confirmed once again today that she sees no place for representatives of the aggressor state in Paris while the aggression continues. This is a clear, important signal, thank you for it,” the President noted.

Zelensky added that it would be good if exactly such signals were heard in the International Olympic Committee, where so far “the personal benefit of individual bureaucrats dominates the Olympic principles.”
