After ending the group stage with a victory over France (3-1), Renato Garrido commented on his team’s performance and praised what his players have done in Noia.
«After this game, we left the group stage happy, as we faced the best teams in Europe. We managed to overcome our opponents with merit, but with the accumulation of games, we started to make a tremendous effort», he said.
«We’d like to give people a different kind of hockey, but we’ve been having physical difficulties and we’re really sorry for the temperature inside the pavilion, something common to all teams. We have to play with all these factors,» he added.
With regard to the next opponent, the national coach devalued a possible favoritism by Portugal and made reference to Antonio Livramento to launch the duel before the English class.
