South Korean police announced that they raided Muan Airport in the south of the country on Thursday morning as part of their investigations into the air disaster that occurred on Sunday, when a Jeju Airlines plane crashed there, killing 179 people.

The police said in a statement, “Regarding the plane crash that occurred on December 29, a search and seizure operation has been underway at three locations since nine o’clock in the morning on January 2.”
He explained that the three locations are Muan Airport, Jeju Airlines’ headquarters in Seoul, as well as the regional aviation authority’s office in Muan.
The statement said, “The police intend to determine the cause of this accident and those responsible for it quickly and accurately in accordance with the law.”
Investigators from South Korea and America are working at the crash site, where the black boxes of the Boeing 737-800 plane were found in poor condition.
Vice Minister of Aviation Cho Jong-wan announced on Wednesday that the damaged flight data recorder should be analyzed in the United States.
Regarding the second black box, which contains cockpit conversations, the first data was removed from it.
