In Debelt, where the detained Hristo Petkov lives, they are surprised that he got involved in a beating
“The moment I saw him, I understood that this was the perpetrator. And I was not surprised for a second and it was clear to me. I pointed to him and all the witnesses pointed to him, we had a unanimous decision”.
This is how the beaten 19-year-old student Vladimir Radev commented to the media about the identification at the RUP Sozopol today, where he saw the detained policeman Hristo Petkov, arrested for beating the boy near the “Gradina” area on the night of July 2.
The boy did not return phone calls later that evening, and his mother said she would not speak to the media on the advice of a lawyer.
Today, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dimitar Kangaldzhiev, announced that he has been arrested for the beating, and he is a policeman from the Fourth RUP in Burgas. It is about 21-year-old Hristo Petkov Ivanov from Debelt, who has been in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs only since October of this year. He worked as a security guard in the management and at the time denied that he had worked extra as a security guard at an event at a beach establishment on the fateful night.
“We know him as a good boy, he has not had any manifestations. His family is ordinary, his father is a driver,” the mayor of Debelt, Nikola Sachanov, told “24 Chasa”.
The 19-year-old student Vladimir Radev, who studies in the Netherlands, was injured on the night of Julaya, when he and his friends bought a BGN 70 ticket for a party near the “Gradina” area.
According to the boy, it all started with a fallen piece of pizza that irritated a young man dressed in a security guard’s uniform. He slapped Vladimir’s friend, and he tried to defend him. The security guard then hit the student in the face with a metal object, believed to be a metal box.
However, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not confirm this information today.
An investigation is underway to determine exactly what happened on the night of July 2. It is managed by the district prosecutor’s office in Burgas.
Earlier today, they refused information on whether and when they will submit a request to the court for a restraining order against the detained police officer.
