This operation was carried out today, taking into account the game that will take place at Estádio do Dragão, in the city of Porto between FC Porto – SL Benfica.
In a statement, the authority informs that 2 individuals were arrested, in flagrante delicto, in the metropolitan area of Porto, and 2 criminal proceedings were initiated for the practice of irregular sale of tickets with speculation, presenting the tickets with face values of 15.00 euros, being to be sold at prices ranging between 35.00 and 70.00 euros, reaching profit values of around 470% above face value.
Furthermore, they emphasize that “20 tickets were seized that were for sale via the Internet, and it was also found that 7 of the tickets were fake, meaning that the defendant will also be charged with the offense of falsifying documents and fraud.”
The detainees were notified to be brought before the Court, tomorrow, for a possible trial hearing in summary proceedings.
The authority highlights that consumers should avoid purchasing tickets above their official value, as this sale constitutes a Crime of Irregular Ticket Sales, punishable by a prison sentence of up to 3 years.
