American Sprint Car Series Crowns New champions and Reaches Historic Win Milestone in 2025

The American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) continued its rich tradition of thrilling competition in 2025, with a season marked by both veteran dominance and the emergence of rising stars. The series, now 34 seasons strong, saw 13 different drivers claim victory in 34 events, pushing the total number of unique winners in ASCS history to an remarkable 177.
The 2025 season was a testament to the depth of talent within the 360 Sprint Car racing world, as established names surpassed legends, rookies made their mark, and regional contenders challenged national stars. Hafertepe Continues reign, Reaches Historic Milestone
Aaron Hafertepe solidified his position as a modern-day ASCS icon, securing his fourth career championship and the fourth time he’s recorded double-digit wins. Having secured 12 wins in 2024, Hafertepe and the Hill’s Racing Team No.15H have now led the Series in Feature wins for the past two seasons.
His $10,000 victory at Belleville high Banks in July was a significant achievement, but it was his 80th career Series victory at Dodge City Raceway park in May that proved truly historic. This win propelled him past the late Jason Johnson and into sole possession of second place on the all-time wins list.
Bergman, Covington, and Martin Surge up the Ranks
The 2024 Series champion, Seth Bergman, secured a crucial win at Montana’s Electric City Speedway in August, marking his fourth consecutive year with at least one national ASCS victory. This win also moved him past fellow national champion Aaron Reutzel into 10th place on the all-time wins list.
Matt Covington continued his consistent performance, banking three Feature wins in 2025 – the fourth time he’s reached that number in a single season. His victories, including a $10,000 score at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park in September, vaulted him over Johnny Herrera, Sammy Swindell, and Brian Brown into 13th place on the all-time wins list.
jason Martin also enjoyed a successful season, securing three national ASCS wins at El Paso County Raceway, Electric City Speedway, and Paducah International Raceway. This performance was his second-best wins total in a single ASCS season, following his nine-win championship campaign in 2023.
Rising Stars and Veteran Resurgence Highlight 2025 Season
The 2025 season wasn’t just about established stars. Ryan Timms, the 18-year-old sensation, dominated at Big Sky Speedway in August, leading all 50 laps of Feature competition over two nights and claiming $19,000 in the eighth annual Harvey Ostermiller Memorial.
Several drivers with experience in 410 Sprint Car racing also made their presence felt. Rico Abreu secured wins at the 35th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals, marking his first ASCS victories as 2014. Justin Peck opened the season with three consecutive wins at volusia Speedway Park, becoming only the third driver in Series history to achieve this feat.
Austin McCarl, a four-time Knoxville Raceway track champion, added another preliminary Feature win at the 360 Knoxville Nationals to his resume. Whit Gastineau, after two decades of sporadic ASCS participation, finally topped the national Series at Salt City Speedway in October, securing a $10,000 sweep of the weekend. Zach Blurton also returned to Victory Lane at Salt City in May, while Cameron Martin and Zach Daum each secured their first career Series victories at Eagle Raceway and Creek County Speedway, respectively, becoming the 176th and 177th different winners in Series history.
