The Minister of National Security MK Itamar Ben Gvir accepted the recommendation of the Commissioner of Police, R.N. Yaacov Shabtai, on the first round of appointments, out of a series of rounds that will take place in the near future.
Superintendent Avshalom Peled will be appointed to the position of Deputy Inspector General. Superintendent Amichai Ashad will be appointed to the position of head of the training division. To the position of R. Eto’av Tamma TNAZ Limor Noah and was promoted to the rank of superintendent.
In doing so, Ashad was actually removed from his position as commander of the Tel Aviv district, after failing to prevent the roadblocks.
The Ministry of National Security and the Israel Police stated: “We wish continued success to the officers in their new positions.”
The office of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir stated: “In response to a question from journalists, this is a pre-planned round of appointments and it is not a question of impeachment.”
As I recall, Ben Gabir was furious with Ashad today and said: “I was disappointed in him today, with the blockades in Tel Aviv. There was complete anarchy there, the media should be happy. If Ashad is so good, let him be in the training department.”
