The traditional Ashes Test series between Australia and England took place in Australia. The first Test in Adelaide was a daytime Test match. The Australian team that won the Test, then went on to win the Test series 3-0 in Brisbane and Melbourne.
The 4th Test in Sydney ended in a draw. However, the Australian team has already won the Test series 3-0. England’s batting and bowling failures throughout the series were on the verge of a consolation victory in the last Test.
The Australians won the toss and elected to bat first in the Test at Hobart, scoring 303 in the first innings with Travis Head’s superb century (101). Following this, England were bowled out for just 188 in the first innings.
Australia scored 155 in the 2nd innings with a lead of 115 runs. Following this, the Australian team, leading by a total of 270 runs, set a challenging target of 271 runs for England.
Chasing a target of 271, England were bowled out for 124 by the Australian fast bowlers. Australia won the Ashes Test series 4-0, winning the Test by 146 runs.
