Ashwin, who has been amassing many achievements in Test matches, has created a record in the second Test match against Bangladesh by performing a quality incident on the world cricket stage.
In the history of world test cricket, the names of other national players such as Flintoff, Jacques Kallis, Ian Botham, Gary Sobers, Imran Khan and Shaun Pollock will come first in the list. But Ashwin has set a record by becoming the first Indian player to beat Kapil Dev to a feat that even Kapil Dev did not do. Having played only 88 matches in Test cricket, Ashwin has become the first Indian player to take 400 wickets and score 3,000 runs. Ashwin became the second player to achieve this feat in 86 matches after former New Zealand player Richard Hadlee. Kapil Dev had achieved the same record of 400 wickets and 3000 runs in 131 matches. Ravichandran Ashwin has done this in fewer matches than him.

1. Richard Hadley:
New Zealand’s bowling all-rounder Richard Hadlee has taken 431 wickets in 150 innings in his Test career and has amassed 3124 Test runs. He remains the first player in Test history to take 400-plus wickets and 3000-plus runs.
2. Kapil Dev:
Known as the Haryana Hurricane of India, Kapil Dev is one of the best fast bowlers to have played Test cricket for the Indian team. Kapil Dev’s Test career spanned 16 years. In such a long career he has taken 434 wickets in 227 innings and amassed 5248 runs. Kapil Dev was the highest wicket-taker for India among fast bowlers. Ashwin is currently behind him with 449 wickets.
3. Shane Warne:
Considered as the king of spin of all time, Australia’s Warne has had an illustrious career in Test cricket. He is a leg spinner and has collected 708 wickets in 273 innings in Test cricket. And he was very effective as a lower-order batsman for his team. He has scored 3154 runs in Test cricket. Warne’s 3154 runs are the most by any player not to have scored a century in Test cricket.
4. Shaun Pollock:
South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock has 421 wickets and 3781 runs in 202 innings. Pollock was a true all-rounder and a great asset to his team from 1995-2008.
5. Stuart Pratt:
England fast bowler Stuart Broad has taken 566 wickets (in 293 innings) in his career so far. Broad has been an indispensable part of the English bowling attack over the years alongside legend James Anderson.
Broad has scored 3550 runs in his Test career so far. It is noteworthy that Stuart Broad scored 169 runs batting at number 9 against Pakistan in the 2010 Lord’s Test.
Ashwin is the only Indian all-rounder in Test all-time!
Ashwin remains the only Indian batsman in the top 20 Twenty20 in the ICC all-time points-scoring list. Ashwin is the 12th highest scorer after Englishman Benstokes with 492 in 2016.
