On Sky Arte: a tribute to Frida Kahlo seventy years after her death

The story is led by actress and director Asia Argento, who recreates Kahlo’s profile starting from her own words, drawn from letters, diaries and private confessions. Considered among the symbols of contemporary feminism, the artist was struck by polio at the age of six and was later disabled after a car accident. Both experiences made her intimately aware of the horror of bodily pain, also reflecting on her artistic expression. Among the figures related to the project Frida – Live Life there is no shortage of experts and artists, such as Hilda Trujillo, who has directed the Frida Kahlo Museum since 2002, and the photographer Cristina Kahlo, Frida’s granddaughter.
