Dubai: India lost against Pakistan in Asia Cup Super Four match. India’s target of 182 runs was chased down by Pakistan with five wickets to spare. Opener Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz laid the foundation for Pakistan’s victory in the fourth wicket partnership. It was India’s first defeat in the tournament.
Miss fielding and not being able to take wickets in the middle overs was the main reason for the defeat of the Indian team. Pacer Arshdeep Singh dropped the catch at a crucial time and will put more pressure on India. However, India was not ready to give up. Mohammad Rizwan scored 71 runs in 51 balls accompanied by two sixes and six fours. Rizwan’s supporter Muhammad Nawaz scored forty runs with two sixes and six fours. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each for India.
On the back of Virat’s half-century innings, India set a target of 182 runs against Pakistan. Captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who got off to a good start, could not continue their overtime. Kohli reached the crease at third man and scored a half-century with a six and four fours. With wickets falling in India’s middle order during the breaks, there was concern about the team’s scoring. Kohli was dismissed with 60 runs off 44 balls. For Pakistan, spinner Shadab Khan took two wickets while other bowlers Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hassanan, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket each.
