Mumbai: The Indian team for the Asia Cup will be announced tomorrow. Wicket keeper Lokesh Rahul and Deepak Chahar, who has recovered from injury, may return to the team. It is reported that Rahul, who will return to the Indian team, may play in the opening.
Malayalam star Sanju Samson may not be considered. However, Deepak Hooda may also play as a part-time spinner. Ishan Kishan as backup opener and Shreyass Iyer
He is also likely to be a backup star in the midfield.
Ashwin is also likely to be included in the squad. Dinesh Karthik will continue in the finisher role. Along with Bumrah and Bhuvi, India’s third pacer is one of Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel. Chahal will be the specialist spinner and Bishnoi will be the backup spinner. Jadeja is also a spin all-rounder. Axar Jadeja will be the back-up player in the team.
The competition will start on 27th of this month in UAE. Six teams will be divided into two groups. The venues are Dubai and Sharjah. India and Pakistan are in Group B of the competition. This group will also have one team that will play the qualifying round. India’s first match against Pakistan is on August 28 in Dubai.
