Asia Insurance’s profit fell 38 percent

The Board of Directors of Asia Insurance Limited, a company listed in the insurance sector in the capital market, has released the unaudited financial report for the second quarter (April-June, 2024) and half-yearly (January-June, 2024) of the current financial year. According to the published report, the profit of the company has decreased by 38 percent in the said half-yearly quarter.

On Tuesday (August 6), the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE) informed this information.

According to the data, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) in the second quarter of the current financial year was Tk 0.51. The profit per share of the company was Rs.1.22 in the same period of the previous financial year. Accordingly, the profit per share of the company decreased by Tk 0.71 or 58 percent in the quarter under discussion.

Meanwhile, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) for the six months or half-yearly quarter of the current financial year stood at Tk 0.88. The profit per share of the company was Rs 1.43 in the same period of the previous financial year. Accordingly, the company’s EPS has decreased by Tk 0.55 or 38 percent in the quarter under discussion.

As on June 30, 2024, the company’s net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Tk 28.03.
