YOGYAKARTA – Indonesian mixed doubles, Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu won in the opening match Asian Junior Badminton Championships or Asia Junior Championships (AJC) 2023. They managed to beat the Vietnamese pair, Van Truong Pham / Bich Phuong Bui with a score of 21-15 and 21-12.

With this result, Indonesia is currently 1-0 ahead of Vietnam. The next match will bring together the men’s singles sector between Alwi Farhan against Quoc Khanh Tran.

The match took place at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Saturday (8/7/2023). Adrian/Felisha won the first two points and after that took the lead with a score of 5-3. The start of the first game was fierce, the two pairs took turns taking points from each other.

Even though they were challenged by the Vietnamese pair, Adrian/Felisha managed to maintain their lead until the score was 6-5. Then they took the lead and walked away with a score of 13-5.

Pham/Bui tried to catch up and threaten the Indonesian pair when the score was 12-15. However, Adrian/Felisha stayed focused and walked away with a score of 19-12.

The Vietnamese pair had tried to get up and catch up. However, Adrian/Felisha managed to finish the first game with a 21-15 win.

At the start of the second game, Adrian/Felisha immediately shot up by getting the first six points and winning 6-0. They continued to maintain the advantage until the score was 10-5.

Appearing confident, Adrian/Felisha managed to maintain their lead and slowly got away from Pham/Bui’s pursuit. They led until the score 17-7 towards the end of the second game.

Only needing one point when winning 20-8, Adrian/Felisha had conceded four points in a row to make the score 20-12. However, in the end they managed to finish the game with a 21-12 victory.
