/ On Monday, the third round of Group 1 of the 2023 Asian Cup football competitions, which is taking place in Qatar, kicked off with two matches. The first match brought together the Qatari national team and its Chinese counterpart at Khalifa International Stadium, and the second match brought together Tajikistan and Lebanon at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium at Al Sadd Club.

In the first match, the Qatari team defeated its Chinese counterpart by one goal to nil, so Qatar topped Group 1 with 9 points, reaching the second round of the competition, while China’s balance froze at 2 points in third place.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, Qatar scored its goal through Hassan Al-Haydos in the 66th minute of the match.

In the second match, the Lebanese team lost to its Tajik counterpart 1-2, ensuring that the Tajik team qualified alongside Qatar for the round of 16, after raising its score to 4 points, while Lebanon’s score froze at 1 point in last place, leaving the tournament.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, Lebanon scored its goal in the 47th minute through player Bassem Jradi, while the referee sent off Lebanese national team player Qassem Al-Zein in the 59th minute of the match, so Lebanon completed the match with ten players.

In the 80th minute, the Tajikistan national team scored the equaliser through Parvizjon Umarbayev, and the Tajikistan national team added its second goal in the 90+2 minute through Nurdin Hamrokulov.
