Sri Lanka’s economy should be set up not only for this time but also for the future, said Sokan Patrick, a young teacher who teaches financial education in Sri Lanka, who participated in the event “Francesco’s Economy” in Assisi.

From Thursday, September 22nd to Saturday, September 24th, the event “Francesco’s Economy” held in Assisi, Italy, was attended by approximately one thousand people from more than 100 countries, including young economists, traders and entrepreneurs.

Speaking to the Vatican News about his participation in the event, Patrick explained how the Franciscan Economy event will help Sri Lanka, which is facing a severe economic crisis due to unregulated development activities.

Patrick also said that he has created a committee on his platform to encourage clear action to build a fair, sustainable, and sustainable future.

“Most modern economies are based on producing something and increasing wealth,” Patrick said.

In 2019, Patrick, who accepted the invitation given by Pope Francis to the world’s young economists and entrepreneurs, came to Assisi from Sri Lanka and attended the event, and has a degree in economics.
