SA Asokan was a legendary actor in Tamil cinema. Most of the time he played the role of a villain and terrorized everyone. He has also played character roles in a few films. He is also naturally an ardent admirer of MGR.
Asokan was one of the notable graduates of that time. Both Jaishankar and Asokan came to acting after graduation. He completed his studies and joined Ramanna. He was the one who introduced Ashok to the film industry.
He first made his debut in the film ‘Auvaiyar’. After that, he played the role of ‘Ash Durai’ in the movie Keplotiya Tamilan and won the admiration of the people. Ashokan, who has been acting in several films, was attending a shoot while MGR was on the set next door.

Asokan was mesmerized by MGR’s muscular body. While talking to Ashokan, MGR not only told him to ‘take care of your health, that will give you a chance in cinema’ but also helped Ashokan to act in most of his films.
Since then it has become rare to see MGR films without Ashokan. Ashokan, who acted in many successful films, later got an opportunity to produce a film with MGR. The tone of his voice in the films and the way he delivered the dialogues earned him a good name.
