People are praying for him in a temple, and comments in his favor are being shared on social media. Tirunelveli District Collector G.P. Karthikeyan has ordered an investigation, and victims are testifying in the Cheranmahadevi Sir Collector’s office. The State Human Rights Commission is also investigating the matter. A village called Odaikarai Thulukkamdi near Ambasamudram has a banner with a photo of ASP Balveer Singh, titled “People’s Verdict is Mahesan Verdict,” appealing to the Chief Minister to reinstate him and ensure the safety of the people. Finally, people performed a special pooja by placing a picture of ASP Balveer Singh at the foot of the goddess statue at Muppudathi Amman temple and prayed for his reinstatement.
