The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) issued an alert on Monday, September 9, after detecting that Several batches of aspirin and other popular drugs were counterfeited.

The agency punctually shared that it is about three aspirins that serve as painkillersas well as others three flu medicines.

Cofepris said the company Bayern de México is aware that 6 of your medications were falsified, so a call is being made to detect counterfeit lots and report those places where they are sold or distributed.

Here’s how to identify aspirin and other popular counterfeit drugs, according to Cofepris

As the winter season is getting closer, Cofepris warned that aspirin and flu medications were identified that were falsified.

Together with Bayern Mexico, they detailed that the counterfeit batches of the 6 medicines can be identified as follows:

Cafiaspirina

  • Batch X24PJT in presentations of 24 and 100 tablets and expiration date December 2024. Batch X24JF6, of 100 tablets.

Aspirin

  • Batch X24PJT, in a presentation of 100 tablets and with an expiration date of December 2024. Batch X23SGA, with false expiration dates of February 2024/February 2026.

Aspirin Protect

  • Batch BTAGXAG, with an expiration date of December 2024 and a presentation of 28 tablets. The batch is completely fake, as it does not belong to Bayern products.

Desenfriol D

  • Batch X293F0, in a presentation of 30 tablets and expiration date December 2025.

Desenfriolite Plus

  • Batch X293F0 and expiration date December 2025. Batch X25198, in a presentation of 24 tablets, and with an expiration date of December 2024. Batch X255FP, with a false expiration date of December 2024.

Tabcin night

  • Batch X24TLD, with an expiration date of April 2026 and in a presentation of 12 tablets.
