The Ochre City Airport won the award for “Best Airport in Africa in its category”, the award for “Africa’s Airport with the easiest route” and the award for “Cleanest Airport in Africa”, the National Airports Office (ONDA) said in a press release, noting that these distinctions are based on the vote of passengers evaluating the quality of airport service in different regions of the world.
In addition to the Marrakech-Menara airport, Casablanca Mohammed V Airport, specifies the same source; was awarded five prizes in the category of airports welcoming between 5 and 15 million passengers per year.
These are the awards for the best airport in Africa in its category, the award for the airport with the most dedicated staff in Africa, the award for the airport in Africa with the easiest travel time, the award for the most pleasant airport in Africa and the award for the cleanest airport in Africa.
These distinctions are awarded each year by the ACI to the best airports according to the ASQ “Airport Service Quality” surveys, which assess passenger satisfaction through various indicators, notes the ONDA.
ACI surveys under this programme assess a wide range of relevant indicators covering the entire passenger experience, including services offered, waiting times, staff courtesy and cleanliness of facilities. The main objective is to measure passenger satisfaction, understand their expectations and compare airport performance with other ASQ participants internationally.
The ASQ survey for the year 2023 was carried out by polling approximately 600,000 passengers, across more than 400 airports around the world. For Casablanca Mohammed V and Marrakech Menara airports, more than 2,900 passengers were surveyed throughout 2023, the same source said.
These awards demonstrate the ongoing commitment of ONDA teams and their partners to meeting the growing needs of passengers. They are part of a process of continuous improvement of the quality of services, in line with ONDA’s “Envol 25” transformation plan.
ONDA will receive these trophies at the “Customer Experience Global Summit and Exhibition” which will take place in Atlanta, United States, from September 23 to 26, 2024.
ONDA expresses its constant and resolute commitment to raising the quality of airport services to a higher level of excellence, enabling it to offer an optimal passenger experience capable of supporting the major events of our country, in particular that linked to the organization of the 2025 African Cup and the 2030 World Cup.
Airports Council International (ACI) is an international organization that brings together more than 1,950 international airports in 185 countries, handling almost 80% of world traffic.
ASQ is the only global program that surveys passengers at the airport on the day of their travel. The program provides approximately 600,000 individual surveys conducted at 400 airports. Each airport uses the exact same survey, creating an industry database that allows airports to compare themselves to other airports around the world.
