It is not very clear what AMD is preparing to renew that great gap that it has left in its catalog between the RX 7600 and the RX 7900 XT, but it is to be imagined that there will be at least one RX 7700 XT and one RX 7800 XT. If there is also an RX 7700 and 7800 remains to be seen, or maybe prepare a 7700 instead of the 7700 XT. There are hardly any rumors about the Radeon 7000, perhaps because its sales are disappointing compared to the RTX 40, and it’s not because of the price, which is much better. At the moment ASRock has registered the name of a couple of models of RX 7800 XT, which is the model most likely to be announced by AMD soon.

ASRock has registered the names with the Eurasian Economic Commission, a PG model and a PGW model, with “PG” being one of the names used by the company for different products. The interesting thing about this model is that it would have 16 GB of VRAM, and from what we have seen it should have an RRP of about $700 depending on the specific power it has, compared to $900 for the 7900 XT. Around those prices are NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti with 12 GB of VRAM, and if the latest AAA games are showing anything, it’s that 12 GB is still not enough for certain combinations of resolution and image quality, especially if you turn on ray tracing.
