Assad announced abolition of military field courts in Syria – Syria

DAMASCUS – Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad has announced the abolition of military field courts, which are said to have sentenced thousands to death without due process. As the presidential office announced on Sunday, Assad issued a decree “ending” the 1968 proclamation that created the courts.
