Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese channel al-Manar reported today (Monday) that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad survived an assassination attempt while on his way to Eid al-Fitr prayers at a mosque in Damascus.
Al-Assad was recorded attending prayers with other worshipers, and in good condition.
Assad’s wife, Asma al-Assad, was quoted on the channel as saying, “Our forces will pursue the perpetrators of the cowardly attack in all areas of Syria.”
