New Delhi: Assam government filed a case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyaya yatra. A case was filed against Rahul for violating the instructions of the state government during the yatra. The route was changed in Jorhat city. The police explains that the rerouting of the journey has caused disruptions on the road.

The Assam Police has also alleged that the organizers of the event, including KB Baiju, instructed the people who participated in the yatra to cross the traffic barricades and beat up the policemen on duty. Opposition Leader Debabartra Seika said that Assam Police is making efforts to create unnecessary obstacles to the journey.

The route allotted in Jorhat city for Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is also short. A large crowd had arrived in the city for the journey. So the journey had to be rerouted. Seika added that Himanta Biswa Sharma, scared of the success of the Yatra in Assam, is trying to break it by filing a case.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will continue in Assam till January 25. The journey will cover 833 km in Assam, passing through 17 districts. The journey started from Manipur on 14th January. The journey will end in Mumbai on March 20. It will cover a distance of 6,713 km in 67 days. The Yatra will reach 110 districts in 15 states.
