Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot at US presidential candidate Donald Trump during his speech in Butler, Pennsylvania, likely received special training before the attack. According to a statement by German weapons expert Lars Winkelsdorf, who analyzed the video of the assassination attempt, the shooter demonstrated a high level of professionalism.
BILD writes about this.
Crooks, positioned on a rooftop 135 meters from Trump, fired three shots toward the former president and the audience. The first shot hit Trump in the ear, which the expert said was a stroke of luck. Winkelsdorf noted that four centimeters to the right, the shot could have been fatal for Trump.
The expert stressed that hitting the target at such a distance requires special skills and practice, since the head is a small target, and it is extremely difficult to hit it without optics. Winkelsdorf also suggested that the shooter used special ammunition, and the deviation from the target could have been caused by a strong wind between the shooter and the target.
Additionally, observers noted that Crooks was wearing a T-shirt with the logo of Demolition Ranch, a popular YouTube channel dedicated to firearms.
Earlier, “Cursor” wrote that explosives were found in the car of the shooter who attacked Donald Trump. The weapon was bought for Crooks by his father.
