Assassination of Shah Jahan; The swords used in the murder were found and the police said that the reason for the murder was the breaking of the rakhi of one of the accused
Palakkad: Weapons used to kill CPIM local committee member Shah Jahan have been recovered in Malampuzha, Palakkad. Three swords were recovered from a field near Koryarpuzha. Blood stains were found on many parts including the handle of the sword. The accused were brought to the place where Shah Jahan was killed and evidence was taken.
Sujeesh’s house, where the weapon was kept before the murder, the place where the weapon was hidden after the murder, and Kava, Malampuzha, where the accused were hiding, were discovered by DYSP VK. The evidence was collected under the leadership of Raju. It was also found that an attempt was made to destroy the weapon.
When the accused were brought near Shah Jahan’s house, the locals protested. The accused were brought for evidence under the security of a large police team.
Meanwhile, the arrest of four accused in the case has been recorded. Naveen, Shabarish, Sujeesh and Anish, who were directly involved in the murder, have been arrested. Palakkad district police chief R. Vishwanath said that personal enmity and local political disputes between the accused and Shahjahan were the reason for the murder.
R. Vishwanath added that eight people were initially charged in the case, but information has been received that more people are involved and more arrests will be made soon.
The police said that the grudge against being the secretary of the Shahjahan branch and the breaking of the rakhi of one of the accused led to the murder.
Malampuzha Kunnankot CPIM local committee member Shahjahan was hacked to death on Sunday night. The incident took place at 9.30 pm at Kadak area near Shahjahan’s house in Kunnangad.
While shopping with his friend, Shah Jahan was run away by the assailants. Shahjahan was immediately rushed to the district hospital with serious leg and head injuries but could not be saved.
