Assembly Election Dates Announced for 5 States by Election Commission
Raipur – The Election Commission has announced the dates for assembly elections in five states – Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, and Chhattisgarh. This much-awaited announcement was made on the 9th, creating a buzz among politicians and voters alike.
As per the announcement, the polling in Chhattisgarh, which will be held in two phases, is scheduled for November 7th and November 17th. Mizoram will have a single-phase polling on November 7th, Madhya Pradesh on November 17th, Rajasthan on November 25th, and Telangana on November 30th. The counting of votes for all states will take place on December 3rd.
With the upcoming elections, political parties have shifted their focus to election campaigns. All the parties are engaged in serious election work, preparing their strategies to woo voters and gain an advantage.
Simultaneously, the parties have started releasing their lists of candidates. In Chhattisgarh, where polls will be conducted in two phases, the filing of nominations began on Friday in all 20 constituencies of the first phase. Candidates have until October 20th to submit their nominations, after which the consideration of petitions will take place on October 21st. The last day to withdraw applications is October 23rd.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced that the first phase list of Congress candidates will be released tomorrow. He also mentioned that another list for the second phase will be published later. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on the other hand, has already released its second phase list of 64 candidates in Chhattisgarh last Monday.
