San Salvador. The Legislative Assembly will hold an extraordinary plenary session tonight to declare a State of Emergency due to Tropical Storm Pilar, at the request of President Nayib Bukele.

The declaration will allow the State to take the necessary actions to protect the population, as well as have the financial resources to address the emergency.

According to the Hydrometeorology site, Pilar would not enter land because there is a Front and North winds that do not allow it to enter. Meanwhile, the United States National Hurricane Center forecasts flooding due to heavy rains along the Pacific coast of Central America, including El Salvador, through Wednesday.

Given this scenario, the Ministry of Education suspended classes in both the public and private sectors, including Higher Education institutions.
