«Not everyone can enter Venezuela,” says Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, while the government is preventing several former presidents, Spanish deputies and Ecuadorian assemblywoman Ana Galarza from entering the country.
Ecuadorian assemblywoman Ana Galarza, from the Construye movement, said she was deported this Friday, July 26, 2024, from Venezuela, a country to which she traveled as an observer of the electoral process next Sunday.
In a video published by the legislator, she explains that she could not spend even an hour on Venezuelan soil, she never went through immigration and when they saw her documents, they first detained them and then sent her back to Colombia, without any reason.
Construye was invited by the opposition to the government of Nicolás Maduro and Galarza was representing the top leader of that party, María Paula Romo, as she explained on social media.
“We have now experienced the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela first-hand and today more than ever we predict new times of change for our sister country,” the legislator wrote.
PP deputies detained
The delegation of parliamentarians from the Popular Party (PP) of Spain that traveled to Venezuela for the elections this Sunday is being held at the Caracas airport, according to information provided by the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, on his X account.
The leader of the PP demanded the “immediate release” of the group and that the Spanish government provide the necessary means to this end.
Five former presidents forced to leave the plane
The Nicolás Maduro regime also placed obstacles to the entry of five former presidents: Vicente Fox (Mexico), Jorge Quiroga (Bolivia), Mireya Moscoso (Panama), and Miguel Ángel Rodríguez (Costa Rica). They were unable to take off from Panama, due to the Maduro regime’s refusal to allow them to disembark in Caracas. Finally, they declined to travel in order to allow the plane to continue its route with other passengers.
