Ast, free screening for hepatitis C continues in Castelfidardo – Health and Wellbeing

by times news cr

(ANSA) – ANCONA, 10 SEPTEMBER – The free screening to identify infections by the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) promoted by the Marche Region and aimed at all subjects born between 1969 and 1989 continues successfully. After a very short summer break, screening for hepatitis C arrives this week in the municipality of Castelfidardo.
There was a high level of participation from residents in Ast Ancona, many of whom, after receiving the invitation letter at home, booked a blood test for the early diagnosis of hepatitis C. In one year, over 40 sessions were organised throughout the province of Ancona, during which more than 15 thousand blood tests were performed.
All this was possible thanks to the precious collaboration between doctors, biologists, nurses, health assistants and laboratory technicians of the Ast Ancona facilities who worked tirelessly to bring this project to life: a team effort that is bringing flattering results.
In the municipality of Castelfidardo, invitation letters have already been sent to all eligible residents and there are already over 500 reservations for Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September (the activity will take place at the Polyclinic in Via XXV Aprile, n. 61 on the ground floor from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm).
Given the great demand from the citizens, we inform you that two additional sessions have been scheduled for Monday 30 September and Wednesday 2 October. It is possible to book at the UOC Screening Oncologici AST Ancona by sending an email to [email protected] indicating your name, surname and a telephone number so that you can be contacted.
Ast reminds that access to the service is by reservation only and it is necessary to bring with you the invitation received and the health card.
“Promoting prevention through screening campaigns is essential for early diagnosis and timely initiation of treatment – says the Health Councilor and Vice President of the Regional Council Filippo Saltamartini – good health cannot ignore prevention, which is an important pillar to guarantee the health and well-being of citizens, this is why the Marche Region focuses on prevention”.
