Asteras AKTOR made a significant announcement by hiring the French football legend, Claude Makélélé, who will take the helm of the Arkadians for this season.
Claude Makélélé arrived in Greece and Athens on Friday afternoon, officially taking over the reins of Asteras AKTOR.
Makélélé had been in advanced discussions with the management of Asteras AKTOR in recent days, and after everything went smoothly, the French coach arrived in Athens at noon on Friday (13/09) at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport.
Afterwards, the football legend went to Tripoli, where he was greeted enthusiastically by the fans and signed his contract with the Arkadians, which is for one year with an option for an additional year.

Mr. Claude Makélélé Sinda, as his full name goes, was born on February 18, 1973, in the city of Kinshasa in Zaire.

HIS BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Claude Makélélé is a significant football personality, with experience and titles at the highest level of world football.
As a coach, he has worked at the French club Bastia and the Belgian club Eupen, where he was in charge for two years with 70 matches at the helm. He has also gained valuable coaching experience, having served as an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti and Laurent Blanc at the French club Paris Saint-Germain, and later to Paul Clement at Swansea in Wales. In recent years, he was part of the staff at the English club Chelsea, focusing on the Academies and working as a technical consultant.
As a footballer in the defensive midfield position, he had a great career both with the French National Team and with the top-level clubs he played for. He was a key member of the French national team for over ten years, participating in two Euros, in 2004 and 2008, as well as in two World Cups, in 2002 and 2006, reaching the final in the latter! Additionally, he participated in the Olympic Games in 1996.
He played for the following clubs: Nantes, Marseille, Celta Vigo, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain. He won the Champions League in the 2001-2002 season with Real Madrid, as well as the UEFA Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, and two La Liga titles (2001-2003), along with the Copa del Rey. He also won the Premier League twice with Chelsea (2005-2006) and the English League Cup, while he was crowned champion early in his career in 1995 with the French club Nantes.

Mr. Claude Makélélé will have as his immediate assistants at ASTERAS AKTOR two other very significant personalities in football.
The head coach’s direct assistant in our technical staff will be Mr. Raphaël Fèvre, born on August 22, 1974, in France. He has worked in the youth departments of Bordeaux and has been part of the technical staffs at Eupen, Chicago Fire, Paris FC, SC Bastia, Valenciennes FC, and Stade Brestois.
