Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings Plc has unveiled the Valen, an 838-horsepower twin-turbo V12 sports car designed for wealthy collectors. Revealed at Monterey Car Week in California, the ultra-luxury vehicle hits 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and serves as a bespoke bid to trim losses for the struggling automaker.

Engineering the Most Powerful Front-Engine Aston Martin Ever Built
Underneath the carbon-fiber bodywork sits a massaged twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine. While Aston Martin has not detailed every internal mechanical change, the powerplant generates 838 horsepower and produces immense torque down at 2,500 rpm. That output eclipses recent limited models like the Valour and Valiant, outpaces the current Vanquish, and comfortably edges past Ferrari’s 12Cilindri, which generates 819 horsepower from a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12.
The engineering team paired the V12 with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission calibrated to manage the heavy powerband. The vehicle achieves a zero-to-sixty sprint in 3.0 seconds flat, with an electronically limited top speed of 214 mph.

Shedding Weight and Rethinking Acoustics
Performance in a front-engine grand tourer requires managing immense mass, and the company managed to shave nearly 250 pounds from a standard Vanquish. Weight savings come from the exterior carbon-fiber panels alongside extensive use of titanium, aluminum, and magnesium throughout the architecture.
The exhaust assembly features a complex titanium configuration with two high-mounted exit points similar to mid-engine supercars. These upper pipes remain open constantly, while secondary lower valves open dynamically under heavy acceleration to amplify the exhaust note. The vehicle also discards a traditional decklid in favor of a solid tailgate that provides access to a rear cargo area.
Bespoke Customization and Market Strategy
Production will be strictly limited, with the manufacturer planning to build special series models. Each unit will be handled through the Q by Aston Martin
personalization program, meaning buyers can select custom paint finishes like the launch model’s Satin Andromeda Red, or opt for completely exposed bare carbon fiber.
The cabin borrows design cues from the mid-engine Valhalla, featuring a driver-focused switchback console that narrows the interior space compared to a standard Vanquish. Beneath the body, the car rides on 21-inch magnesium wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero R rubber measuring 275/35 up front and 325/30 in the rear. Those wheels conceal carbon-ceramic brakes equipped with 16.1-inch front rotors and 14.1-inch rear rotors.
