A total of 14 girls and boys from Latin America will hold a talk with the Salvadoran astronaut Frank Rubio from the International Space Station in a live broadcast, unpublished on television in which they will talk about science, astronomy and technology 400 kilometers away from Earth.

“It is an unprecedented transmission, there is no public or private medium that has the capacity to make a video call to space, that is, a link to an international space station 400 kilometers from Earth, we can do it due to the cooperation we have with the NASAwhich included us in an annual plan that they have for the dissemination of science”, he explained.

Torres explained that the production process has been complex, because in addition to the costs of satellite transmission, they made a call for girls, boys and adolescents from 14 countries in Latin America, Spain and Portugal, to which the almost 100 affiliated television and radio broadcasters arrive. to ATEI to send a video with questions for Rubio.

The result was the participation of 391 minors who asked the astronaut about various topics, of which 14 questions will be chosen that include issues such as health, curiosities and discipline of astronauts and life on other planets.

The transmission will be conducted by Ana Cristina Olveraa journalist specialized in science and host of the NCC, will be completely in Spanish and will be open free of charge to any public and private media, and broadcast on different digital platforms, Torres said.
