Asus has announced a new gaming headset called the ROG Delta S Wireless, the company’s first model to support a 2.4 GHz wireless connection via a USB-C dongle, as well as a standard Bluetooth connection. The dongle supplied with the ships supports virtually every platform, including Xbox PlayStation and Switch consoles and Windows and macOS based computers. The maximum range is about 25 meters, while ensuring a particularly fast connection.
Compared to the ROG Delta S and ROG Delta S Animate reviewed here recently, the wireless model weighs a total of 18 grams, 318 grams compared to 300 grams of Delta S in a wired connection, but comes without bulbs and decorations beyond the usual Asus D-shaped design .
The digital-to-built-in digital converter is also missing, but the Delta S Wireless comes with the same 50mm drivers, so the quality should be similar overall. The package also includes two sets of ear pads, one leather-like and the other fabric, and there is support for Armory Crate for setting audio profiles and noise level.
The microphone noise filtering mechanism is also maintained, which is based on artificial intelligence and is able, according to the manufacturer, to reduce no less than 500 types of background noise, from office calls to keyboard keystrokes. The headphones are also equipped with hidden microphones in a beam configuration that concentrates the audio reception in a 40-degree field in front of the user’s mouth and reduces the reception of sounds around.
Battery life stands at up to 25 hours, with fast charging providing up to 3 hours of use after only 15 minutes of charging. The price in the US is about $ 200 and in Israel it will be about NIS 770, with the expected launch date being this coming August.
