Powerful, state-of-the-art components, combined with stunning ROG Nebula and Nebula HDR displays and ROG’s advanced Intelligent Cooling System, give the 2023 Strix laptops everything you need to excel in professional and amateur esports.
Components of the highest level
The Strix Series is ROG’s highest performing gaming laptop. They are based on the latest Intel processors® and AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards®. Strix SCAR 16 and 18 hardware includes an Intel CPU® Core™ i9-13980HX (24 cores and 32 threads) and NVIDIA notebook graphics card® GeForce RTX™ 4090 with thermal package up to 175 watts. The total thermal package of the CPU and GPU in these laptops reaches 240 W (with Dynamic Boost technology and custom settings in high-performance mode). The display multiplexer and support for NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology allow you to get the optimal frame rate in games when connected to power or save battery power when working offline. Switching can be performed automatically without the need for any action on the part of the user. New Strix G16 and G18 Notebook Models Maxed out with Intel Processor® Core™ i9-13980HX and NVIDIA laptop graphics card® GeForce RTX™ 4080 (175W Thermal Pack with Dynamic Boost Technology) with Display Multiplexer and Advanced Optimus Technology.
Updated models of Strix SCAR 17 and Strix G17 gaming laptops were also presented. The 2023 Strix SCAR 17 laptop is maxed out with an AMD Ryzen processor™ 9 Zen 4 and NVIDIA laptop graphics card® GeForce RTX™ 4090, while the top-end Strix G17 offers a similar processor and graphics card to NVIDIA laptops® GeForce RTX™ 4070. Like the 16- and 18-inch models, the 17-inch Strix SCAR 17 and Strix G17 are equipped with a display multiplexer and support for Advanced Optimus technology.
Advanced Intelligent Cooling System
The 2023 ROG 16-inch and 18-inch laptops feature an advanced intelligent cooling system that includes a branded triple-fan thermal module, as well as an oversized full-width heatsink. Both technologies, first introduced in the 2022 Flow X16, have been adapted to the latest Strix SCAR 16, Strix SCAR 18, Strix G16 and Strix G18 laptops. Thanks to the larger heatsink, the surface area for heat dissipation has increased by 92.23% compared to the cooling system in the 2022 models. In addition, ventilation outlets located around the entire perimeter of the case provide unhindered airflow for heat dissipation. With seven heatpipes and the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal thermal interface, which is now used not only for the CPU, but also for the GPU, the performance of these components has increased to previously unattainable values.
The 2023 Strix SCAR 17 and Strix G17 use the Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal thermal interface for the CPU, while the SCAR 17 laptop has a dedicated vapor chamber for even more efficient cooling.

The 2023 Strix laptops come with either 16-inch or 18-inch 16:10 displays, and each model in the series is available with a stunning ROG Nebula display that outperforms most gaming laptops in multiple ways. ROG Nebula is a seal of excellence that only honors panels that meet the most stringent criteria for refresh rate, response time (3ms or less), backlight brightness (500cd/m or more)2) and color gamut (100% DCI-P3). If your laptop is equipped with a Nebula display, the image quality is guaranteed to be superb. All 2023 ROG Strix laptops are available in up to QHD display configurations with refresh rates up to 240Hz.
The Strix SCAR 16 is available with a stunning Nebula HDR mini-LED backlit display with 1024 local dimming zones for stunning contrast. Peak screen brightness reaches 1100 cd/m2, and the display quality of HDR content is simply mesmerizing. As a result, the Strix SCAR 16 offers the perfect combination of a stunning display with one of the most powerful hardware configurations of the year in a gaming laptop.
Laptops built to win big
ROG Strix laptops are built for the most demanding gamers who want nothing less than the very best in performance, portability, design and customization. The Armory Crate app allows you to switch between several preset modes, from silent and power efficient to high performance for gaming at full capacity. It also allows you to manually fine-tune various system settings, including supply voltage and fan operation. The case of all Strix laptops is decorated with colorful LED backlighting, which in the Strix SCAR 16 and 18 models is implemented even on the back panel along the ventilation holes. Aura Sync technology allows you to synchronize the colors and lighting effects of your laptop with compatible peripherals, and with the help of the Aura Creator application, you can create your own complex illumination scenarios.
The full-size keyboard layout is convenient for game control, while customizable hotkeys let you adjust the volume, mute the microphone, or quickly switch between different system modes. The touchpad is enlarged for more precise control. The body of the laptop is equipped with a special coating that does not leave fingerprints, so even with active use, the device always looks like new.
