ASUS continues to add new 40 series models based on the new architecture of NVIDIA: THERE’S LOVELACE . And it is on this occasion that the new TUF GAMING RTX 4080 OC comes into our hands, which is focused on serving the market that is looking for the best price/performance balance.

As we already saw with the RTX 4070Ti TUF, the design is the same, based on sober colors and a large heatsink.
In the back we also see part of the redesign. With a larger, perforated backplate and white TUF details that blends great with any system.
Put on its side we can see that at least we need to leave 4 slots in our case and motherboard to be able to accommodate the video card and also so that it has space to get the air it needs.
Also on the side is where we see the 12-pin connector characteristic of this new 40 series. Now, although it is true that power sources with this standard are just coming out, the manufacturer includes an adapter to be able to use it with current sources . (We recommend a minimum 850W Gold source)
An almost standard detail is the switch that offers us to use the 2 available BIOSes: Performance (Optimize performance and temperatures over noise) and Quiet (Lower noise and slightly higher temperatures).
On the back this time we did not find any connector for extra fans or any special detail.
In terms of connectivity we find the classic: 3 Display Port 1.4 ports and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports. And as we said, although it only has 2 slots, it is necessary to leave at least 4 so that everything can enter

After spending some time testing and using the new ASUS TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 we can say that it is the best RTX 4080 in terms of price / performance ratio and quality. Not just because it has incredible performance, but because in some ways it can even rival top-of-the-line models from other brands.
To give an example, we have the excellent heatsink where it gives us temperatures below 59 ° C and which translates into being able to reach better frequencies and therefore a couple of additional FPS. We also cannot fail to mention the excellent design, with a sober color scheme and the backplate that provides rigidity to the entire structure.
It only remains to say, that if you are thinking of playing 2k or 4k with an FPS rate greater than 120, this is the video card you need at an excellent price. You take advantage of not only NVIDIA’s new architecture, but also ASUS’ new level of evolution in both performance and design.
