ASUS Unveils 2024 Zenbook DUO Composed of Two Sets of 14-Inch OLED Screens, Supporting Multiple Tasks and Diverse Use Modes
At CES 2024, ASUS announced the launch of the new Zenbook DUO model UX8406. The laptop, which consists of two 14-inch OLED touch screens and uses Intel Core Ultra processors, is a continuation of ASUS’s exploration into multi-screen design laptops.
In 2019, ASUS had launched the Zenbook Pro 15 with a ScreenPad design, which combined the touchpad with the display screen to correspond to different operating functions. In 2020, the 2020 Zenbook DUO was launched, placing the second ScreenPad Plus above the keyboard to add more application possibilities.
The 2024 Zenbook DUO is a direct composition of two 14-inch touch OLED screens corresponding to 3K resolution, supporting 120Hz screen refresh rate and 16:10 display ratio design. Equipped with a detachable keyboard, the laptop also has a stand design on the back of the 90% recycled magnesium aluminum alloy body, allowing for various usage experiences, including general notebook, display mode, desktop, book mode, and stand upright dual-screen usage mode.
Weighing only 1.35 kilograms, the 2024 Zenbook DUO is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, up to 32GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage capacity. It is designed to meet Intel EVO certification and has complete I/O ports, quick wake-up, and a long battery life. The laptop also adopts Lumina OLED display panel technology, providing a bright color display, eye protection, and a comfortable viewing experience.
The built-in stand can support a range of angles, and the included laptop protective case provides additional support angles. The laptop can also be operated with a stylus for writing or drawing and can be used in a 180-degree flat position. The physical keyboard can connect to the notebook through magnetic contacts or through Bluetooth.
ASUS has also designed different operating gestures for dual-screen use, including quick access to the virtual keyboard, switching between different functions, and moving windows between screens. The company also provides an App Switcher and a ScreenXpert shortcut bar for easy access to different software functions.
The launch of the 2024 Zenbook DUO demonstrates ASUS’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of laptop design and providing users with innovative and versatile devices.
