Ternopil: As the Russian offensive on Ukraine intensifies for a second day today, the Ukrainian government has sounded sirens across the street and urged people to stay in safe places.

The Government of India is working to rescue more than 20,000 Indian students who are staying in Ukraine for education. Speaking to the Russian President last night, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to Indians, especially Indian students, to ensure their safety.

In this situation, many Indian students there have taken refuge in the places indicated by the government and their respective universities. In that sense, the shocking video released by a student trapped in a metro station in Ukraine has caught everyone’s attention.

The student, Nilesh Jain, said, “I am studying at a university in Ternopil. We have taken refuge in the metro station for security. We have been stuck here for more than 30 hours. The internet is not available properly. There is only bomb noise all around. We demand that Prime Minister Modi rescue us.”

In the video, Manish Jaiswal, a youth from Uttar Pradesh, said, “We are helpless. We have heard two or three bomb blasts near where we have been since morning. All air traffic has been cut off. We are asking Prime Minister Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help.” “

Similarly, a student from Gujarat said, “Already booked air tickets have been canceled. All airports have been closed.”

Meanwhile, more than 5,000 students from Tamil Nadu are stranded in Ukraine. Chief Minister Stalin has announced that the cost of rescuing them will be borne by the Tamil Nadu government.

In this context, Russia announced yesterday that it would ensure the safety of Indian students in Ukraine, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s request. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that necessary instructions have been given to ensure the safety of Indian students in Ukraine.

The federal government is planning to repatriate students in Ukraine via its neighbor Romania. The federal government is also in talks with Hungary and Poland.

More than one lakh people have so far migrated from Ukraine to neighboring countries, including Moldova.
