Morocco announced that it has become the first car producer in Africa, and the number of car exports has been doubled between 2021 and 2024, and industries related to the aviation sector are witnessing continuous development.
The statement by Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch came during the second session of the National Industry Conference in the city of Benkreer, located in the north of the Kingdom. The event is being held under the slogan “Inaugurating a new industrial era governed by sovereignty, a royal vision in the service of the citizen and the regions.”
Akhannouch said: “Today, Morocco has become a global destination in a number of advanced sectors, which is reflected in many numbers and indicators. At the level of the automobile industry, our country has become the first producer of tourist cars on the African continent, in addition to doubling the number of car exports between 2021 and 2024.” “.
Akhannouch confirmed, “During the past year 2023, Morocco was able to manufacture more than 570,000 cars, meaning almost one car every minute.” Our country has also taken giant steps with regard to electric cars and the battery industry, by developing an integrated value chain, which has enabled our country to be positioned within the global map of major countries in this field.”
The Moroccan Prime Minister also pointed out that “the industries related to the aviation sector are witnessing continuous development, reflected in the increasing volume of its exports. The sector has also been able to attract major international investors, with the presence of more than 140 international players in the field in our country.”
The Prime Minister highlighted that the Kingdom has strengthened its position as a major player in other fields, such as the food industry, the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry, and the textile and leather industry through the important roles played by these sectors, especially at the export level.
