Rainfall is expected over almost the entire country from today to Wednesday, inclusive. For the Plovdiv region, precipitation will begin in the late afternoon, stop and resume at night. The amount of precipitation until Wednesday is expected to be about 10 liters.
Rainfall will continue during the next 24 hours. In Northeastern Bulgaria, they will be weaker, and in some places it will not even rain, reports the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
There will be more precipitation in Southwest Bulgaria, mainly in the afternoon hours, when it is expected to be intense and significant in quantity. There, the amount of precipitation is expected to reach 35-40 liters per square meter, and it will also be rainy on Thursday.
Cloudiness will be significant in the mountains tomorrow and precipitation will continue. In the massifs in Western and Central Bulgaria, they will be in many places, in the Rilo-Rhodope region – intensive and significant in quantity. Snow will fall above about 2,000 meters in the morning, but as temperatures drop later in the day, snow will also fall at lower altitudes. Moderate to strong winds will blow from the west-northwest, in the evening from the west-southwest. At 2 p.m., the temperature at 1200 meters will be 5°-6°, at 2000 meters – about 1°.
In the middle of the week, it will remain relatively cold and mostly cloudy. There will also be short-term precipitation, but in fewer places, on Thursday mainly in Western Bulgaria. The wind will be moderate from the east-southeast.
The prevailing temperatures will be: the minimum between 4° and 9°, and the maximum – between 12° and 17°.
