The mayor of Zaporizhia, Anatoly Kurtev, confirmed this Sunday morning that at least 17 people have died after the Russian army bombed the Ukrainian city with missiles again at dawn, where the country’s main nuclear power plant is located, which It works thanks to the emergency system after having been disconnected from the electricity grid due to attacks by Kremlin forces.
According to preliminary data, five houses would have been destroyed and some 40 have suffered serious damage, Kurtev said in a message on his Telegram channel, in which he also conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims. The mayor has reported that public services have begun to work in the area, after rescue teams have authorized them to clear the impact area. The attack comes a day after the partial destruction of the strategic Crimean bridge.
