The mayor of Lviv, western Ukraine, said a missile strike against a residential building killed three people Thursday in Lviv, said the mayor of this city in western Ukraine.
“Already three dead,” said Andriï Sadovyi in a Telegram message, after reporting “eight injured” and “many apartments” damaged in a video, also posted on the social network.
Emergency services are mobilized and “there could be more people under the rubble,” Sadovyi said on Telegram. “A person in serious condition was evacuated by ambulance,” the mayor said earlier.
Lviv, regular target of attacks
It is a “direct hit against a residential building” carried out by Russian forces, described the head of the regional administration Maksym Kozytsky on Telegram. In images shared by the governor, a building appears badly damaged, devoid of a portion of its highest floors, the windows shattered.

Several hundred kilometers from the front, Lviv and its region have already been the target of attacks since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. On the night of June 19 to 20, a “critical infrastructure” of Lviv had been hit by drones, Kozytskyi reported.
Five people were killed in March in a shooting in a residential area of Velyka Vilchanytsia, in the Lviv region.
