“What Ekaterina Zaharieva received as a portfolio, I know that at least 7 or 8 countries wanted it and couldn’t get it”, this is what the GERB/ENP MEP Andrey Novakov said in the program “The Day Begins” on BNT.
“A program that is worth almost 100 billion as the horizon of Europe is not crumbs”, he added and added that he believes that Ekaterina Zaharieva with the preparation she has will be impeccable.
A significant part of the budget is with which you can introduce innovations, support enterprises, schools and the economy of our country. He stated that these funds should not be considered a “grocery bill”.
“Let’s see what money we can get. This is not the case. We have to make sure that our universities, companies that submit projects, are good enough to receive”.
Unfortunately, the percentage that Bulgaria received in recent years from this type of financing was not high, but this is not the responsibility of the commissioner, but the quality of the projects that were submitted, he explained.
“And I wish that since nothing bad is heard here about Mrs. Zaharieva, we stop interfering with ourselves. The situation in Bulgaria is bad enough to keep looking for something to say that “it’s not good enough or that no, it’s not nice – look what a nasty spring we got”.
And this is not true, commented the MEP, because this is a department with a lot of funding and secondly it is a priority for the EC. At the moment, he added, our country is not seen as a reliable partner to negotiate with.
“And the truth is that with all the respect I have for my colleagues from neighboring countries, I cannot say that they are categorically superior to colleagues from the Bulgarian delegation, who I know have the qualities of very high positions”.
People, according to him, are asking themselves when we will stop being the last on PUV and when we will start to absorb the new programs.
“There is a lack of a basic conversation between the main political forces, and this hinders everything. To come to this point to be so late, by three years, for the Recovery and Resilience Plan, is not a problem in these three laws. And the problem is that we have endless spiral of early elections”.
On the topic of migrants, Andrei Novakov said that the time when Europe was a paradise for them is over. He thinks it’s about time this happened.
“I see a sobering up by the EC regarding the Green Deal, the electric cars, the overambition to reduce harmful emissions, which has led to the closing of factories in Germany.”
According to him, this was a suicidal policy, which encouraged the suspension of European production and the importation of manufactured products from abroad.
