On Friday night, at the Narva border point there were no new attempts to enter Estonia from Russia without legal grounds, the head of the border point, Marek Liiva, said on the Terevisioon morning program, ERR writes.

“The night passed calmly, the events of the day did not repeat,” Liiva said at 7 am.

“We are closely monitoring the situation. Border control is carried out by reinforced personnel. We are prepared for the possibility that yesterday’s events may repeat themselves,” added Liiva.

Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets said in the same broadcast at 7:40 that Estonia has no data on how many Russian refugees could be forcibly transported to the Estonian border, he added that Estonia has prepared for everything.

As the press service of the Police and Border Guard Board reported yesterday, on Thursday at the border checkpoint in Narva, 19 citizens of Somalia and Syria who did not have the necessary documents to enter the country were denied entry into Estonia.
