/ The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday afternoon to discuss the strikes launched by the United States in Syria and Iraq in response to the killing of 3 of its soldiers in an attack in Jordan.
Agence France-Presse quoted diplomatic sources as saying that the meeting called for by Russia, a permanent member of the Council, will be held on Monday at 4:00 PM (21:00 GMT).
She explained that “the session will discuss the attacks launched by the United States against pro-Iranian factions that Washington accuses of attacking its forces in the region.”
Last night, Friday, the United States launched attacks targeting dozens of military sites on the Iraqi-Syrian border.
The US raids, which came in response to the attack on Tower 22 on the Jordanian border, killed 16 people and injured 36 others, according to official sources.
