Security forces arrested a Jordanian citizen who arrived at the Allenby crossing yesterday (Friday) disguised as his wife. After his arrest, he was transferred for questioning and later returned to Jordan.
The suspect arrived at the Allenby crossing while on vacation to a Palestinian woman and equipped with his wife’s passport. But the ‘gentleman’ aroused the suspicion of the security force at the crossing and he was taken for examination so he was exposed as a man impersonating a woman.
A spokesman for the Airports Authority said: “A Palestinian Jordanian woman (born in 1979) who arrived in Israel at the Allenby crossing aroused the suspicion of the security personnel – during the security check, suspicion arose that this was not a lady, sir.
“The investigation revealed that he was indeed a Palestinian Jordanian (born in 1978) who wanted to enter the territories with his wife’s passport. The gentleman was transferred for further treatment by security officials and after interrogation was returned to Jordan.”
