jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI Fadel Muhammad revealed that the MPR’s term of service for the 2019-2024 period will end in September 2024.
During the year he has carried out his duties, functions and authorities as mandated by law.
“At the end of this term of office, we certainly want to provide the best legacy and have a good impact on the country and nation,” said Fadel Muhammad after attending the Joint Meeting (Ragab) of the MPR Leadership with the Leaders of the Factions and Groups of the DPD MPR RI, in Legian, Badung Regency, Bali, Friday (23/8).
For this reason, Fadel Muhammad continued, the MPR for the 2019-2024 period has prepared a draft recommendation for the next MPR period, including the draft of the Main Points of State Policy (PPHN), the draft of the MPR Bill, and an in-depth study of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
“Regarding PPHN, we think it is very important, so that with PPHN, this country has a focused national development plan direction, structured from the center to the regions, so that development will be evenly distributed,” he explained.
The DPD member for the Gorontalo Province electoral district emphasized that the draft recommendations of the MPR for the 2019-2024 period also aimed to ensure that the Indonesian people know and understand the work carried out by the MPR so far.
“From what I understand from the public response to the MPR in various regions, the MPR during my period, led by Chairman Bambang Soesatyo, has very high dynamics, receiving positive public attention, thus raising the name of the MPR institution and that is very good,” said Fadel Muhammad.
The Ragab event itself went smoothly, discussing and deciding several things, including, the MPR will hold a final session of the MPR term of office for the 2019-2024 period which will be attended by all MPR members from the DPR and DPD elements.
