Entertainer Alfons Haider will take on the lead role in the ski musical “Skiverliebt – Two boards that mean the world” at the Salzburg State Theater in 2025.

Entertainer Alfons Haider was on stage at the Salzburg State Theater over ten years ago, not literally, but for a production called “Butterbrot”. Next year, the 66-year-old is looking forward to a stage comeback in the city of Mozart. This time in the lead role in the musical “Skiverliebt – Two boards that mean the world”. This is being developed specifically for the 2025 Alpine Ski World Championships taking place in Saalbach. “As the general director of the Burgenland music theater, I unfortunately only rarely appear on stage myself anymore, which was always the basis of my artistic work. “I’m all the more pleased to be involved in a musical premiere again,” says Haider. He is particularly looking forward to working with director Andreas Gergen. The two have already worked successfully together on the musical “Mamma Mia” at the Mörbisch 2023 Lake Festival. “Skiverliebt” is scheduled to premiere at the Landestheater shortly before the World Cup and will also be performed twice in Saalbach during the World Cup. The venue for the 2025 World Ski Championships in the winter sports resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm is the backdrop and inspiration for the plot, where the joy of skiing, natural beauty and tourist business come together. Martin Lingnau and Frank Ramond write and compose.
