REPORTAGE – Since July 26, a vaccination center entirely dedicated to monkeypox has opened in Paris. Day after day, the pace is accelerating but the candidates waiting for their dose of vaccine are numerous and the available slots remain insufficient.

After ten days without finding a single vaccination slot available, Pierre * finally pushes the doors of the Thomas Edison health center. It is here, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, that the health authorities have decided to install the first vaccination center entirely dedicated to monkeypox. In the hall about fifteen people are waiting, getting ready to receive the injection. For Pierre, this injection is essential. This is the only way to be able “to find a serene sexual life and not to find oneself the victim of additional stigmatization”, he explains. For the 26-year-old, the anxious wait is over. But many are still impatient, because since its opening, the center has been overwhelmed with requests for appointments.
