(ANSA) – SENIGALLIA, 18 AUGUST – “A Story Together” is the title of the event organized for next August 22 by the Italian Red Cross (CRI) of Senigallia, on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Red Cross. The story of over a century and a half of humanitarian commitment and solidarity will be ‘told’ to the local community in a moment of emotional sharing in which we will focus in particular on the numerous activities carried out in our territory.
Founded on June 15, 1864, the Italian Red Cross is inspired by the International Red Cross Movement started by Henry Dunant. In this long period of time it has dedicated its efforts to the protection of human life and dignity, operating without discrimination and providing assistance in situations of armed conflict and natural disasters.
A mission that has extended over the decades, adapting to changes in society and global emergencies, under the firm guidance of the seven Fundamental Principles: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Volunteerism, Unity and Universality.
The event will have two moments: “CRI for People” will take place in Piazzale della Libertà in front of the Rotonda, where vehicles and equipment will be lined up and a series of recreational, informative, awareness-raising and health prevention activities will be held, including: “Diabetes Screening”, “I’m Not a Target” and “Murder Mystery Dinner” (curated by the Giovani CRI).
“CRI Meets the Community”, will take place inside the suggestive rooms of the Rotonda, with a public meeting with the participation of civil and military authorities. The volunteers of the Italian Red Cross of the Senigallia Committee will present the activities carried out in the territory in the different operational areas of the CRI. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the incessant work of the CRI and to appreciate the commitment of the volunteers who dedicate themselves every day with passion and competence to serving the community.
